Ask Me 3
According to the Partnership for Clear Health Communication, the strongest predictor of a person's health status is not age, income, employment status, or ethnicity. It is health literacy.
That's why they've launched a solution-based initiative called Ask Me 3. It promotes three simple but essential questions that patients should ask their providers in every health care interaction:
- What is my main problem?
- What do I need to do?
- Why is it important for me to do this?
They also offer free downloadable resources free of charge and you may print and reproduce as many copies as you need. You can also join PCHC and be kept up to date on their resources and initiatives. The site is at www.askme3.org.

Their Communications Team offers a wealth of free materials to assist in your efforts to raise awareness and enroll children and adults in your state's Medicaid and State Children's Health Insurance (SCHIP) program.
All the products are available online by going to http://coveringkidsandfamilies.org/.
